The Suspense Account and Flame By The Sea is a two part book of mystery, romance, and supernatural with religious elements. The first part of the book is called The Suspense Account and the second part is called Flame By The Sea.

The Suspense Account is the story of Matthew Clayburg who is the reincarnation of his own father, Frenchy Dean, who was murdered on the docks. Though not a focus in the story, events are driven by those working for and against the restoration of a haunted Church that sits abandoned overlooking Sounder‘s Bluff.

Flame By The Sea starts with the events that caused the Church on Sounder’s Bluff to become bankrupt and abandoned. The story then jumps to the future. There is Daniel Hudson who is looking for his missing grandmother. There is young Timmy Benton who enters into an adventure and a friendship with Captain Raveen. There is Mark Aveline and Mary Crow who have their own adventure looking for Daniel Hudson at the haunted Church. There is Kay Benton who is both foe and friend as is her nature and adds a comic touch to the story.

The story has a lot of short stories within the larger story. My mom (RIP) most enjoyed the parts with Timmy. That made it fun to write and I still enjoy rereading it. I hope you do as well.
